Harmony Group Projects Inc. is located in Squamish, British Columbia, at the heart of the world famous Sea to Sky Corridor. Due to the uniqueness of this land, Squamish has a complex and rich history with Canada’s First Nations population. This population is referred to today as the “Squamish Nation”, and are descendants of the Coast Salish Indigenous Peoples who occupied and governed this region for over 10,000 years.

 

The word "Squamish" means "Mother of the Wind", and with the strong winds that still blow at the north end of Howe Sound, it is easy to understand how the original Coast Salish inhabitants came up with the name for this territory. The Squamish Nation has long history with art, sports, hunting, and fishing, and they continue to practice these customs and traditions that are deeply connected to the land today.

Modern day Squamish is focused on adventure sports, ecotourism, and sustainable development, and is referred to as "the outdoor recreation capital of Canada". 

The spectacular Coastal Mountain scenery and huge granite monoliths that surround Squamish make it one of the best places on earth to go hiking, rock-climbing, mountain biking, backcountry skiing, snowshoeing, and much more. Every year hundreds of thousands of visitors flock to the area to enjoy these activities, and soak in all of Squamish's beauty. The area is teeming with wildlife, form an abundance of salmon in the Squamish River, to the eagles found in Brackendale, making Squamish a popular destination for fishers and bird watchers alike. At the northernmost part of the Howe Sound fjord, commonly referred to as “The Spit”, you

can find windsurfers and kiteboarders who come from around the world to enjoy Squamish's consistent big winds in the summer months.
